Leave the Euro 2020 hype—and the rainy weather—behind: VIR presents affordable travel deals to sunny destinations
Munich, July 15, 2024 (KC) – For a whole month, soccer fans across the country were on the edge of their seats watching many exciting matches featuring the EURO teams—in the stadiums or at public viewings, mostly in dreary weather and temperatures that were anything but summery. Now that the EURO is over, it’s time to recharge your batteries: According to the Association of Internet Travel Sales (VIR), anyone looking to escape to the sun can take advantage of extremely attractive offers in popular destinations such as Turkey, Spain, Egypt, Greece, and Tunisia. Here are some sample prices for travel in August 2024:
It’s the number one travel destination—and not just this summer: Turkey is a hit with vacationers thanks to its virtually unbeatable value for money. For August 2024, a one-week all-inclusive vacation at a three-star hotel is available through the online provider HolidayCheck is already available starting at 1,146 euros per person. At a four-star resort, the all-inclusive week-long vacation starts at 1,258 euros per person. Those who prefer to cook for themselves on vacation can even find a three-star hotel in Turkey starting at 866 euros per week.
Viva España: Spain remains a must-visit destination for the 2024 summer travel season. And there are attractive last-minute deals to be had here as well: A week at a four-star self-catering hotel is available on HolidayCheck starting at 799 euros per person.
A little further away, but no less appealing: Egypt. HolidayCheck currently offers one-week stays at four-star hotels starting at just 876 euros per person. Those who prefer an all-inclusive package can book a one-week stay at a four-star hotel for as little as 1,234 euros per person.
Greece also has a large following among vacationers here. Sun-seekers can currently enjoy a Mediterranean vacation on HolidayCheck starting at 928 euros per week for a three-star hotel (including breakfast). A four-star hotel is also available, including breakfast, starting at 1,032 euros per person.
Tunisia, a popular travel destination that also ranks among Germans’ favorite summer getaways, offers plenty of desert magic. There are currently some very affordable last-minute deals available here as well: A one-week stay at a four-star hotel (with breakfast) is on offer at HolidayCheck starting at 1,008 euros per person. For 1,340 euros per person, you can even get an all-inclusive vacation—meaning all meals are included in the price.
“For last-minute travelers, it’s definitely worth checking out the major online travel sites right now,” says VIR board member Michael Buller. “There are new, attractive travel deals every day, making a getaway to the sun extremely tempting at this time of year.”
