Voted by several hundred industry professionals: DynAmaze is the “TravelStartup of2021”
Munich, December 8, 2021 (w&p) – It was a nail-biting finale: With a narrow lead, the booking platform DynAmaze (https://dynamaze.de) prevailed in the virtual final round of the “Travel Start-up Nights,” organized by the Travel Industry Club e.V. (TIC) and the Verband Internet Reisevertrieb e.V. (VIR), and was named “Travel Start-up 2021.” Eight finalists, who had won this year’s qualifying rounds of the “Start-up Nights,” competed not only for the title but also for a substantial prize package worth around 60,000 euros.
The finalists were given the opportunity to present their business ideas in a ten-minute presentation to a 40-member panel of experts and other industry participants. They were then evaluated based on the criteria of innovation, business model, unique selling proposition (USP), and relevance to the industry and as a team/founder, with the jury’s decision weighted at 80 percent and the remaining audience votes at 20 percent.
“With the goal of becoming the go-to booking tool for recreational activities, DynAmaze set the bar very high for itself—but managed to win over the jury in the process,” said Dennis Zimon of Passolution, chair of the jury for the final round and winner of the 2018 VIR Sprungbrett competition.
The winner of Start-up Night 2021, DynAmaze, markets spontaneous leisure activities for last-minute bookings within seven days. Not only are new providers constantly being added, but end consumers are also inspired by spontaneous leisure experiences.
VIR Board Member Michael Buller: “The dynamic pricing developed by DynAmaze and its ability to adapt to available capacity are strong arguments in favor of this new business model. DynAmaze thus helps balance supply and demand in the leisure industry and opens up entirely new opportunities for tourism companies.”
TIC President Dirk Bremer adds: “By booking through DynAmaze, existing resources are used efficiently, providers’ per-capita energy consumption is reduced, and a contribution is made to environmental protection. This is a truly sustainable business model.”
The travel portal Backpacker Trail took second place in the final “Start-up Night” competition. The startup aims to enable every backpacker worldwide—regardless of their financial situation—to plan a personalized trip.
Coming in third place was the tour operator TripLegend, which organizes sustainable adventure trips in small groups.
In addition to their top finishes, the first- through third-place finishers were delighted to receive a generous prize package worth a total of around 60,000 euros, contributed by the following companies: Advant Beiten, Arnecke Sibeth, Ballcom, Best Western, billiger-mietwagen, Claudia Freimuth, ITB Berlin, Meta, PinCamp, Realizing Progress, Reisevor9, Saint Brand, Starting-up, Steigenberger, TAA, The Student Hotel, Travelholics, Wilde & Partner Communications, as well as the TIC and VIR.
Other finalists included Beyond Bookings, Deski, FairWeg, Live Voice, and sailwithus.
