Numerous meeting points for current topics such as fostering the next generation of tourism professionals, as well as for meetings with political representatives

Berlin/Cologne/Unterhaching, February 16, 2024 (KC) – At ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel trade show, the member associations of the Tourism Diversity Action Alliance (ATV) are making a strong showing. The advocacy group representing the German tourism sector is focusing on targeted networking around current issues such as promoting young talent and the challenges of digitalization, while also offering exciting behind-the-scenes insights into sectors including TravelTech and children’s and youth travel. It will also engage in discussions with political representatives on industry topics.

 

Here is an overview of the meeting points, dates, and activities:

asr Alliance of Independent Travel Companies – Federal Association (www.asr-berlin.de)

The tourism association for small and medium-sized businesses will be showcasing itself alongside numerous sub-exhibitors at its large shared booth in Hall 25, which has established itself as a networking hub for small and medium-sized businesses, offering plenty of space for discussions with partners and customers. On Tuesday, March 5, 2023, an industry get-together with destination partner Zambia will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Reisenetz Association for Children's and Youth Travel (https://www.reisenetz.org)

The focus at Joint Booth 121 in Hall 4.1 is on children’s and youth travel, with both the BundesForum Kinder- und Jugendreisen e.V. and the Reisenetz Fachverband für Kinder- und Jugendreisen e.V. represented there. The adjacent Children’s and Youth Travel Lounge offers an exciting program for all trade show visitors: daily student tours, company presentations, talks on career and job prospects, opportunities to design climate-friendly children’s and youth travel experiences, games, a photo booth, and much more. Last year, the Tourism Committee visited the booth, and a visit is also planned for 2024—which the associations view as a good opportunity to highlight the social significance of children’s and youth travel. On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Reisenetz Fachverband is also hosting a get-together for providers in the children’s and youth travel segment.

BVDIU – Federal Association of German Incoming Tour Operators (www.bvdiu.org)

Members and sponsors of the association, as well as interested incoming agencies, destinations, and service providers—such as hotels and other businesses—from Germany will gather on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. at a café near the trade fair for the traditional ITB breakfast. He is a co-exhibitor in Hall 25, Booth 209.

forum anders reisen e.V. Association for Sustainable Tourism (www.forumandersreisen.de)

Sustainability is the focus at Booth 223 in Hall 4.1. Petra Thomas, Managing Director of forum anders reisen , will participate in a panel discussion on human rights due diligence and the Supply Chain Act on Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. on the Lighthouse Stage in Hall 4.1. Also on Wednesday, the TO DO Awards ceremony will take place, where Petra Thomas will serve on the jury for forum anders reisen while also representing the board of the organizing Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung. A small networking event will follow.

HSMA Germany e.V. (www.hsma.de)

The HSMA will be represented at ITB Berlin with the HSMA Lounge@ITB in Hall 8.1, Booth 117. It offers 15 sub-exhibitors and all HSMA members an exclusive retreat for meeting and networking. Another highlight this year for hoteliers in the #HSMAfamily is an #ExpertConsultation. During this session, hoteliers can book appointments with the HSMA’s expert board members to ask them subject-specific questions.

RTGV – Association of Travel and Tour Guides (www.rtgv.de)

He will be at the Hessen booth in Hall 27, across from Deutsche Bahn.

VIR – Association of Online Travel Agencies (www.v-i-r.de)

For the first time in a long while, VIR has a permanent presence at ITB Berlin and is a sub-exhibitor at the GIATA booth in Hall 5.1. In addition, two special events are planned. For the first time, the VIR has organized a “Behind the Scenes of Travel Technology” tour at ITB onWednesday, March 6, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM,during which participants will visit various travel tech companies at their booths. The tour aims to highlight the importance and relevance of travel tech companies and provide in-depth information about the digital tourism industry. Registration information is available here. The VIR’s traditional search4talent tour for students at ITB is also a must-attend event. It will take place onThursday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.Further information can be foundhere.
