Welcome to the VIR, Jacqueline Beckers
Today we are pleased to welcome a new member to the team at Verband Internet Reisevertrieb e.V.: Jacqueline Beckers will be providing valuable support at our office in Unterhaching, near Munich. She will be involved in our various projects and events. In the following post, the 26-year-old introduces herself:
My name is Jacqueline Beckers; I am 26 years old and come from the Rosenheim district. To gain more practical experience, I decided in 2013 to pursue a dual degree program in Hotel and Tourism Management. During my studies, I was able to immerse myself in a wide variety of areas within the tourism industry. Since then, I have gained experience at a Bavarian family-owned hotel, a travel agency specializing in bus group tours and its associated tour operator, as well as the large travel group FTI. This has given me a good overview of this diverse industry, through which I have discovered great potential in the digital tourism sector.
I am particularly drawn to the diversity of this industry, which is why I am excited to support and inspire many companies and sectors in my role as Senior Project Manager at VIR.
The digital tourism industry is a key focus for me, both professionally and personally, because a vacation begins with thorough planning using a wide variety of online channels and portals. After all, the anticipation is still the best part! Although I enjoy traveling all over the world, I love my home region, its traditions, the great food, and the Bavarian Alps.
I’m especially looking forward to the new and varied challenges that await me in the field of digital tourism!
