Study tourism, gain hands-on experience and network
A degree in tourism—whether a bachelor’s or master’s—is the ideal gateway to an international and promising industry. If you’re passionate about travel, cultures, and digital innovation, a degree in tourism management will teach you how to plan, digitally market, and successfully implement tourism offerings.
Whether in hotel management, travel planning, or destination development, a degree in tourism provides you with the practical knowledge and skills you need for a career in the industry. Digital topics such as online marketing, the platform economy, data analysis, and digital business models play a central role. You’ll gain an understanding of the demands of a globally connected and increasingly digital industry.
Through hands-on learning, field trips, and internships, you’ll gain valuable experience and strengthen your intercultural skills. At the same time, you’ll open the door to a wide range of career opportunities in a dynamic, digitally driven tourism industry that is constantly growing and offering new prospects.
through the VIR's Search4Talents initiative
Through the Search4Talents initiative, the Association of Online Travel Distribution (VIR) actively supports you as you transition from your tourism studies to the professional world and guides you as you enter the tourism industry. The goal is to support students and recent graduates in the tourism sector early on and connect them with suitable career opportunities.
This includes regularly posted job openings for tourism students at leading companies in the industry, which are specifically designed for entry-level candidates and typically require little to no prior work experience. This makes it much easier for you to launch your career in tourism.
In addition, Search4Talents connects you directly with companies in the tourism industry through events, projects, and partnerships with universities. At the same time, the VIR supports innovative projects and research in the fields of tourism, digitalization, and the promotion of young talent.
