Statement on the Amendment to the Reporting Requirements for Digital Platforms (DAC7)

In a letter to the head of the Tax Department at the Federal Ministry of Finance, Dr. Rolf Möhlenbrock, the VIR has commented on the draft bill for the Act Implementing Council Directive (EU) 2021/514 of the Council of March 22, 2021, amending Directive 2011/16/EU on administrative cooperation in the field of taxation and modernizing tax procedural law. In particular, the letter highlights the significant bureaucratic burden on businesses and warns of the consequences of deviating from a uniform European regulation. Stellungnahme des ATV zum Fachkräftemangel im Tourismus

“There is an urgent need for action regarding staffing structures in the tourism industry, which has already been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Alliance for Tourism Diversity (ATV) urges policymakers. In a statement, the coalition of 28 industry associations addresses the issue of securing a skilled workforce in tourism through foreign workers. The ATV statement was sent to, among others, the tourism policy spokespersons of the parliamentary groups in the Bundestag.

The Association of Internet Travel Distribution (VIR) continues to grow: The advocacy group for the digital tourism industry welcomes the booking platform Booking.com, one of the largest providers in the online travel agency (OTA) sector. With its expertise, the booking portal Booking.com strengthens the association’s online travel agency cluster. As a result, all major international OTAs are now represented in the association.
