Mit einer mehrseitigen Stellungnahme hat der Verband Internet Reisevertrieb e.V. (VIR), der Interessenverband der digitalen Touristik, auf die Ergebnisse einer Sektoruntersuchung zu Internet-Vergleichsportalen des Bundeskartellamts reagiert. Hierzu wurde im Dezember 2018 vom Bundeskartellamt ein Konsultationspapier veröffentlicht, zu dem der VIR nun für das Segment der Online-Reisebüros (OTAs) eine Erklärung abgab.
